Audience Reviews for Abbado in Lucerne

In all my years of giving reviews for musicals/documentaries, this, my friends, must rank on the bottom of my prestegious list of concert documentaries. This film was an hour and fifty-nine minutes too many. This experiencde involved the two worst activites I have to endure in my life. First, concerts for which I can't even pronounce the name, and second, being two hour long documentaries for concerts of which I cannot pronounce the name. Storyline? What storyline? It was a man talking over a concert about Lucerne for two hours. Where was the plot structure? The Actors? The Script for crissake? But I digress, the music was okay, and I even tried to purchase the Abbado in Lucerne CD to capture the music in my head, but I recieved nothing. It took them twenty-five minutes to even tell me what Abbado of Lucerne means. That was the only suspenseful moment which kept me on the edge of my seat. Would I watch it again? The answer is a swift no. The bonus two minutes on the DVD, though, caught me entirely by surprise, and helps to open up the two hours of confusing dialogue and little/no plotline. The directors vision was captured in these two minutes.
