Ten years after Errol Flynn and Alan Hale put on the tights for The Adventures of Robin Hood, Warner Brothers have them re-teamed in an attempt to do it all over again. No, not a reboot, or a re-do, but it might as well should be. Errol is up for it too, doing his damn-est to hide that those years have gone by, and the studio helps all that it can, with better-than-living-color, sumptuous costuming, and out-of-your-mind sets (not to mention a familiar sounding musical score - where have I heard that before, hmmm?). But. It's a different director, eh, and different writers. Lightning does not strike twice in this case, but not for lack of trying.

Overstuffed preposterousness with Errol just beginning to fray around the edges is still a feast for the eyes. Ultra lush production values with eye popping costumes, baroque set pieces, the ever reliable Warners stock company and of course a sword fight or two.
