A forgotten film for the most part due to L&H not given liberties to their previously proven technique, but it's still Stan and Ollie!

Stan and Ollie are bankrupt businessmen who are recruited to become air raid wardens n their hometown. They experience a series of misadventures that include wrecking the town's gymnasium and sending the influential banker to the hospital during an air raid drill. When they learn their new business partner is a German spy they prevent a nest group of German spies from blowing up a defense plant during a town civil defense drill. This was toward the end of their career and was not one of Laurel and Hardy's better efforts. There was too much dead time and it would have worked better as a short film rather than a feature, but it does have its moments.

A movie starring this classic comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. This is one of the last few films this duo starred in. The story has Laurel and Hardy volunteer as air raid wardens for their town during WWII. But they soon discover a Nazi plot to blow up a munitions plant. Laurel and Hardy are very funny in this. The story is silly but fun. The gags and jokes are typical Laurel and Hardy. Most of the duos comedy shorts are much more funny than this film. But I still got some good laughs watching this film. If your looking for a good old comedy then check out this film.

Sometimes funny, sometimes not. Overall, it's okay.

Bought a 2-films-on-one-vid job from an old bloke who sells off a table he sets up by the side of the road here in Bristol every Thursday and Saturday. You see it doesn't only happen on Broadway. Watched this, the first of the two, today. It's from pretty late in Laurel and Hardy's career but still has a few laugh out loud spots. Edgar Kennedy also features. HT
