Movie Info

As a pair of youthful friends about to be separated by fate ponder their future lives apart in this metaphysical drama starring Richard Roundtree. His sleep suddenly interrupted by a late night telephone call, studious introvert Wes picks up the receiver to hear the voice of energetic beauty Alison. Alison is boarding a plane for Tokyo in the morning, but before she sets out on her lifelong adventure she wants to meet with Wes for one last night together. As the night turns to morning, Wes and Alison reminisce about their pasts while sharing secrets and pondering the impact of pop culture on the human condition. Through it all, Wes' spiritual guide El Doctor (Roundtree) always seems to have the right answers to the profound questions pondered by the withdrawn young man.

Audience Reviews for All the Days Before Tomorrow

Another well intentioned indie filled with "deep meaning" as platonic friends spend some time together and basically wonder about why they're still only platonic. While there are moments that ring true, some of those very moments of truth come through ... yawn ... lengthy stretches where nada happens. If I were in a couple about to break up and wanted to finish the job, this would be the perfect film, relying as it does on the fact that nobody's perfect.

It's always interesting to see platonic relationships portrayed onscreen: the very idea is such an ambiguous gray area that it takes real skill to imitate the strange combination of friendly confidence and intimate uncertainty to a convincing degree. Herein lies the greatest success of "All the Days Before Tomorrow," an interesting spin on the romantic drama genre. Something you need to know before this review: My best friend is a female; name Sara. We talk for hours at a time, and do things with each other that we can't do with others (nothing dirty, you sicko!), even our SOs (if any exist at the time of us hanging out). This movie follows two best friends, a guy and a girl, who have seen each other in awhile, she moved to Tokyo. She's back in town and he's taking her to the airport, we then get flashbacks and flashbacks and more flashbacks, and flashbacks within flashbacks and surreal dream sequences involving Richard Rountree as the most odd guardian angel ever! It plays out very much like how my relationship with Sara has gone (and still is going). SInce it seemed so real to me, and I could easily relate, and found the acting and chemistry to be very good, and it had amazing cinematography, I recommend this to everyone. Plus, kickass title!
