Movie Info

Director Gwen Wynne explores the meaning of family and love during a time of sociopolitical turmoil with this drama about two young sisters who finds their lives thrown into turmoil upon realizing their widowed father is gay. Cape Cod, 1973: sisters Madeline and Daisy Goodhart arrive in the scenic beach town to live with their loving father -- the owner of a small, home-based furniture business. As the two girls do their best to fit in at their new high school, a secret threatens to tear their family apart: their father is gay, and he's in an intimate relationship with his business partner. Despite the changing times, homosexuality is still frowned upon by Cape Cod residents who view it as a threat to traditional family values, and the girls find their bid to be accepted by the locals challenged at every turn.
