Movie Info

Upon A Wave From the Atlantic, steamships brought immigrants from across the ocean to the land of the free and the home of the brave. With the huddled masses came ideas, interpretations, and an influx of foreign culture that would become a special ingredient in the melting pot of American fabric. Couple this with the invention of photography and the result is a gritty portrayal of urban existence from the turn of the 20th century. This fifth segment in the PBS venture called American Visions was written by Time magazine art critic Robert Hughes. ~ C. Dwayne Smith, Rovi
