Movie Info

Part of the Animatrix series of animated shorts set in the universe of the Wachowski brothers' The Matrix, Final Flight of the Osiris comes from Andy Jones, the animation director on Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Beginning with a playful sparring session with erotic undertones, the film tells the story of the last moments of the crew of the hovercraft The Osiris. When the crew spots a group of Sentinals approaching, it's a race against time to contact their brethren in the last city of Zion (via the Matrix) before the machines attack their ship. Kevin Michael Richardson and Pamela Segall are among those who provide voices.

Audience Reviews for The Animatrix

Truly a masterpiece of CG animation. Pixar has yet to do better. So good it bankrupt a production company it was just so awesome.

An interesting short that fits great with the other Matrix movies while exploring new grounds. The animation is great, and the story is pretty good for a film that lasts under 20 minutes. There is a bit of sexual stuff in the beginning and some blood throughout, but it's an entertaining short that not only sets up the basics for the 2nd and 3rd film, but also a video game. It's worth a look into if you enjoyed any of The Matrix films, and is the best of the Animatrix shorts in my opinion.
