Jill W 01/18/2025 I found this as part of an exploration of PBS' theater broadcasts from the 1970s. This retelling of the original Greek story is fascinating in its focus on the relationship of the characters to one another and to fate. Genevieve Bujold is superb as Antigone. I would recommend this to anyone that loves theater. Not the original tragedy by Sophocles but a mid century rewrite by Jean Anouilh that positions the original struggle between Antigone and Creon in terms of French existentialism.
