While preparing for his first gallery show, painter Alex (Mark Ruffalo) is abandoned by his girlfriend, Yvette (Anne Marie Johnson), after his exhibition falls through. Forced to fall back on a pizza delivery job while figuring out his next steps, Alex moves into a decrepit apartment building. Surrounded by eccentric neighbors, the artist grows unexpectedly attracted to new resident Lori (Beth Ulrich), a former soldier whose background and interests are completely different from his.
