This silent drama chronicles the sacrifice of a self-made man who gives up his hard-earned fortune to ensure his daughter's happiness. It all begins when his girl falls in love with the son of another noveau riche family. When the young man is falsely accused of stealing his uncle's fortune, the couple's happiness is destroyed. The real thief was the uncle' own son. In order to keep the accused out of jail, the girl's father gives him his entire fortune to pay back the debt.
