Its relaxed and reflective way of exploring ideas makes it a uniquely muted children's film, but a far more rewarding one.

Audience Reviews for Princess Arete

She hides away from the world's impurities. Princess Arete is held hostage in a castle by a wicked sorcerer. The sorcerer builds stooges by transforming various things into people who follow him. He does other magic as well, but he feels the princess can one day give him eternal life; meanwhile, the princess gets in touch with a villager who spreads the word on her existence. The villagers will band together to try and breakout the princess. "If I marry the princess, I will return to my natural, handsome form." Sunoa Katabuchi, director of The Blinkins and episodes from the television series Black Lagoon and Wonder Beat S, delivers Princess Arete. The storyline for this picture had a Black Cauldron feel to it. The animation wasn't elite but fit the story well and the film is fairly well paced with interesting settings and characters. "Our master has changed something into a person again?" I came across this on Netflix and decided to add it to my queue. I am generally a fan of anime animated pictures and found this very entertaining and fairly unique. I enjoyed the settings and magic and felt the conclusion was solid. I strongly recommend seeing this once if you're a fan of the genre. Grade: B

Haha funny film and very creative and life like. It's kind of hard to find good Anime shows and movies but this is just crative. Well great animation or AMAZING. Nice voice acting but the one and only dud is its slow sometimes and i had to view it more than once.
