Director Kelly Greene has clearly studied his subject matter very carefully and the result is a seamless tribute rather than a cheap knock-off... Attack of the Bat Monsters feels very authentic to the period in which the story is set.

Its warmth and good humour make it easy to like and there's a playfulness about it that keeps it engaging.

This is a must-see for anyone interested in the period. I could complain about some anachronisms (the term "scream queen" hadn't been invented in 1959, for example), but on the whole it's pretty accurate.
