Visually engaging, realistic and a great lead actor, but I felt like I'd seen the story done better before.

Good stuff here. It reminded me of "Das Leben der Anderen" but probably just because it's German, and there's a voyeur, but it was a very affecting film just like that one. There is a very touching setup, and a massive twist that I didn't see coming. The problem is that, as another reviewer pointed out well, the film does a wonderful job examining the characters after the twist, but there is never a resolution. When you ask yourself a set of questions during a film, they should be answered. When an open ending works, it poses new questions. In this open ending, it simply fails to answer the ones we've been asking. That aside it is very well done, and feels like a feature, and it's 30 minutes (long for a short) fly by. Worth a look, but not my favorite of the nominees.
