Movie Info

Mohit Suri's darkly violent romantic thriller Awarapan observes the quandary of an underworld character forced to make a fateful decision when faced with absolute corruption. Emraan Hashmi stars as Shivam, a henchman in the employ of a brutal crime boss, Mafioso Mallik (Ashutosh Rana). Mallik's latest mission for Shivam involves sending him out to check on Reema (Mrinalini Sharma), one of the boss's Pakistani sex slaves, in an attempt to test her romantic loyalty. Suddenly, upon discovering that Reema is indeed erotically unfaithful, Shivam finds himself faced with two options: either carry out Mallik's difficult orders by executing the young woman, or set Reema and her lover free. As Shivam explores this quandary, he is suddenly flooded by bittersweet memories of a past love that dramatically impact his decision. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

Audience Reviews for Awarapan

This was not one of the typical Hindi movies that I enjoy, but the story was laid out in an interesting way. I had to stay until the end to find out how everything worked out for these characters.

It's got Emraan Hashmi, and it's not R-rated! Will wonders never cease? The boy actually kept his tongue in his mouth, for once. I subjected myself to an Emraan Hashmi film just to watch Ashutosh Rana. The latter didn't have as much screen time as I would've liked, but that's probably because he easily steals the limelight away from Hashmi. In any case, it's the best Emraan Hashmi film I've seen so far, for whatever that's worth.
