Movie Info

Legendary Looney Tune Daffy Duck takes on the dour, penny-pinching persona of Ebenezer Scrooge for this animated take on the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. Consumers can find anything that their hearts desire at the "Lucky Duck" mega-mart, but when the holiday draws near and last-minute shoppers crowd the aisles, Daffy greedily demands that his employees come in to work on Christmas Day. As put-upon manager Porky Pig laments the fact that he will be forced to report for duties on the biggest holiday of the year, Bugs Bunny enlists the aid of the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future in ensuring that the dastardly drake in charge of the store receives an unforgettable lesson in the true meaning of Christmas.

Audience Reviews for Bah, Humduck! A Looney Tunes Christmas

Sufferin' succotash, Bah, Humduck!: A Looney Tunes Christmas is a halfhearted and uninspired telling of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. In this adaptation Daffy Duck plays a cold-hearted and abusive department store owner who's visited by the Ghosts of Christmas in an attempt to redeem him. The Looney Tunes characters are horribly miscast in their roles, and it all seems extremely contrived. The comedy is also poorly written, consisting mostly of cheap jokes and mindless slapstick. Bah, Humduck!: A Looney Tunes Christmas is an incredibly lazy and insincere holiday film that does a disservice to Dickens' work.

If it has to be a ghost story, let it be Looney Tunes. I can not imagine a better embodiment of Scrooge than Duffy (or, should I say, Daffy). I would have liked to see more on Bugs and I was a bit surprised to find him playing the role of caring person; fortunately, he is a genius and manages to get over the inconvenience, so that we can enjoy his perfectly benign comico-sadistic charm, as we used.
