Less authentic take; also less to scare younger kids.
Barbie and Charles Dickens. Two names you probably never hoped nor expected to see together in a movie's opening credits. Yet here we are. Predictably, this is a poor effort. The animation actually looks second hand, as though it has been worn out by something proceeding it. The story itself is a fair enough adaptation, even though it simplifies and trivialises every aspect of Dickens' classic. The vocal work is also annoying and you feel as though it talks down to it's audience. In it's defense, it does have a Frenchman on a unicycle.
