The Battle of Shaker Heights may be a simple movie, but it does that in the best way possible. It brings together a great cast of characters in this low-budget, loveable movie. The story of Kelly (Shia Labeouf) as an actor in war films, decides to takes his acting skills into real life situations. When he mixes his war-life with romance, things get complicated and friendships are lost. This is a harmless movie that people of all ages can enjoy, with a heart-warming story and a great life lesson, The Battle of Shaker Heights just barely makes itself a great memory, but I will definitely be revisiting it in time. Very solid teen flick that not too many people know much about...

Winner of Project Greenlight (the brainchild of BFFs Ben Affleck & Matt Damon), 'The Battle of Shaker Heights' is a witty and charming coming-of-age story. Life and people don't always live up to our ideals, but we must accept that, and move on. It's hard not to admire the boldness of someone who isn't afraid to live. Shia LaBeouf did some of his best work at a young age. His character shares notable similarities with his real life (an impulsive, yet captivating teenage boy with a penchant for acting, a father with a history of drug addiction, and an artistic, bohemian mother), which makes his performance more authentic.

Not many movies can make you want to jump off a building... But this succeeded in every possible way.

A very mature and sensitive look at a boy's journey to become a man. Thumbs-up!

Maybe I just wasn't in the mood, but the only good thing about this movie is the original background setup. Apart from that I found it not funny and not dramatic, putting the whole thing in some twilight zone without interest.

Original story, a little bit better than just for TV.

Again, seeing the "Greenlight" series makes you want to like the movie, but it doesn't make the end result any better.

For it being a very small indie with essentially no reason for people to go see it other than it won Project Greenlight, it is a great movie. Shia LaBeouf really did a great job and carried the movie with no trouble. The story was a little corny, but it still manages to be a fun coming-of-age movie.

Shia LeBoeuf (who should change his name) carries this Proj. Greenlight film. A good afternoon waster.

Typical and average, but Shia LaBeouf presents a strong non typical character with great easiness! Worth seeing the film, for his performance only!

the cover of the movie makes it look cheezy, but its actually quite good

This is a movie that isn't sure what it wants to be : a comedy, a thought-provoking, coming of age drama, both, or neither. It wasn't a bad movie, but it doesn't allow for much endearment to any of the characters. In turn, you don't care what happens to them.

long before Shia LaBeouf becomes a troubled heartthrob, he starred in this indie project. About a boy who is too obsessed with WWII, but also a story about his inability to communicate with others

it has its flaws, but it has some pretty funny stuff.
