Movie Info

Probably the most significant Irish playwright of the 20th century, Samuel Beckett has influenced generations of directors and actors in film, television and theatre. The themes and language of his work are as fresh and relevant today as they were 50 years ago. Beckett's distinctive style of tragicomedy combined with his remarkable dialogue and settings render his work timeless. Encompassing all nineteen of Beckett's plays, Beckett on Film brings together some of the most distinguished directors and actors in film, television and theatre including directors Atom Egoyan, Neil Jordan, Anthony Minghella, David Mamet, Karel Reisz, and Patricia Rozema; and actors Rebecca Pidgeon, Alan Rickman, John Hurt, Rosaleen Linehan, Jeremy Irons, Julianne Moore, and the late John Gielgud and Harold Pinter.

Audience Reviews for Beckett on Film

Samuel Becket has some rather interesting plays. I liked the one which Alan Rickman was in becuase of his immence acting talent. But my favorite of the plays was a one person show called. "Not I" It shows the classic Becket chatacter and was captivating to watch.
