a small quiet movie that is about a 17 yr old boy from the country who goes to the big city 2 find his father who left the family 6 years b4, the ending was a little confusing but it provides a look at the dichotmy in china of rural life vs. city life.

With Bringing Father Home being such a great movie you forget that it's an amateur film. The boy left the village a kid but came back as a man who wasn't in his right mind & the journey forever changed him

Very good movie about China's poor villagers but with a twist at the end. Very promising director. As tough it's been film in video (in clandestinity), the quality of execution would have fit perfectly with 35 mm.

it's just a bad imitation of Jia Zhang Ke's style.

Not bad, but strange and occasionally difficult to connect with. Still, it is a passable coming-of-age, and affords some insight into Chinese attitudes. Not a must-see, but a great conversation-starter for anyone interested in China.
