Critic Reviews for Between the Folds
Gould's film turns abstract inquery into concrete reality before our eyes.
The film sweeps viewers from intricately beautiful works of folded paper art to the submicroscopic origami of proteins, and it is well worth the trip.
Audience Reviews for Between the Folds
Definitely interesting - origami is a lot more involved and complex than I ever thought.
Fascinating and engaging documentary. Never a dull moment, it has changed the way I look at origami, both as a creative artform and a practical problem-solving tool. Worth a watch, even if just for the mind-blowing craftsmanship displayed within.
This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Besides the shockingly gorgeous work and fascinating people who are featured, there is zero fat - I wouldn't cut a single frame. The sound track is magnificent, and the narrator is excellent. (The Director narrated her own movie because she created it with zero resources.) Won a Peabody Award last year, which made me pay attention to the Peabody organization - good call! Support this filmmaker at http://BetweenTheFolds.com Give the DVD to everyone you know. Their lives will be enriched by watching it.
