Movie Info

When the ancestral palace of the Brahmin family becomes the site of some seriously unsettling events, it's up to a psychiatrist from America to determine if the house is truly haunted in this comic thriller from director Priyadarshan. Badri is the family patriarch, who presides over the sprawling family estate. When Badri's nephew Siddharth and his wife, Avni, return to their native village following an extended stint in America, it begins to appear that the rumors about their family palace being haunted are true. Soon everyone is wondering if there is a more logical reason for the strange events unfolding, and suspicion falls upon Badri's adopted daughter, Radha. Later, Siddharth's friend Dr. Aditya arrives from America on a mission to solve the supernatural mystery and reveal the culprit responsible for the bizarre ruse.

Kumar equates stripping to emoting whilst Ahuja and Balan share zero on-screen chemistry and look confused. Pretty Patel is reduced to an inexplicable cameo.

Some chucklesome broad comedy doesn't make up for even more bug-eyed mugging, and the English-language subtitles are inexcusably cut-rate.

A performance of profound and unmitigated dreadfulness.

Audience Reviews for Bhool Bhulaiyaa

An old palace with old tragedy in India and now a ghost haunts the halls, an evil witch who demands revenge ... but all is not how it seems in this inventive blend of comedy and drama, medicine and magic, tradition and science, with, of course, some singing and dancing on the side. I was pleasantly surprised. There is some pandering to lowbrow tastes, but hey its a film, not a course in quantum physics. Finally, a Bollywood film I liked. They got me.
