Fun film from the 90s where you can truly feel the chemistry between Goldie and Mel. No awards on plot here but fun to see the duo and a few memirable scenes: Legs under car, scaling bad guys on top of hotel at 4 seasons, bullets at the vets, etc. Duke & Carridine as well as bad guys in a Hollywood film is interesting. Okay look into the summer slams that was 1990, Enjoy!

Such soft overripe tomatoes? What a bunch of stuffed-shirts, mixing metaphors. This was a good & fun rom-com romp that had everything but the kitchen sink. It's a buddy road movie, a crime chase Jack Ryan on-the-run thriller, a screwball lite comedy, Gibson in a mullet, Hawn in her last hurrah as a cutsey damsel in distress, and some action to boot. There's nothing profound or breakthrough here; that never was intended. It's a fun ride, that's it. And Hawn looked to be in very good shape for this one, front & rear. | - Norm de Guerre

I thought the action was okay, but had some cheesy comedy and wasn't a good movie for Mel Gibson.

Entertaining for what it is. Worth a look.

Very cheesy 80's film from the 90's

Gibson and Hawn in a fun, fast paced action thriller typical of the early 90s. Sure, the screenplay is thin and ultimately written on a bar napkin but its action sequences and the performances of its lead stars make this predictable comedy a lot of fun.

Ug, this movie was awful, though it does have a few moments of funny slapstick sprinkled throughout. Obviously someone really, really wanted Gibson and Hawn to act together and came up with this 'work'. Why did I watch it? Well, it auto-played on Crackle after I'd finished the quite good "The Big Heat" and the family got drawn in.

Does anyone remember this very early '90s romanticomedythrillerama starring Mel Gibson's mullet and Goldie Hawn's 2 backs? Nor should you. It's absolutely ridiculous most of the way and I'm giving it a second star only because in the finale at the zoo, one bad guy is dispatched in the tiger cage, Goldie Hawn is chased by monkeys, and another bad guy is eaten by pirahna.

You could see Gibson was having fun but not the viewer of this crap.

When he gets recognized by an old girlfriend Rick Jarvin who is under the FBI witness relocation program gets nervous and asks to be relocated but before he can the guy he put in jail is being released and wants his revenge on rick and tries to hunt him down and kill him. The chemistry between Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn is brilliant. This movie has enough wit blended with action and comedy to make this movie very enjoyable. It is a wild and fun ride that has plenty of excitement, action and alot of laughs. I can't say enough about movies like this that blend comedy and action. There are probably bad ones out there too but I guarantee this movie is not one of them.

Gibson and Hawn makes this worthwhile

This is a middle of the road but enjoyable action comedy. John Badham a veteran of the action genre handles proceedings with flair and paces the movie well. The film hardly lulls despite a someone choppy ending set in a zoo. The film is routine but gets by with the likable leads, Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn. Gibson was making a name for himself as an action man by this time having already done 3 Mad Max films and 2 Lethal Weapon movies. Gibson's everyman likability and at the same time tough guy physique worked well in these movies, despite wasting his acting ability, with the exception of a great role in Lethal Weapon. At the same time as Gibson evading death by the pursuing dirty lawmen, David Carradine and Bill Duke, Goldie Hawn seems to be in her very own light-hearted Goldie movie about the posh bird who learns there is more to life than money and essentially she is still acting from her previous movie, Overboard. Despite this Hawn is likable and has good chemistry with Gibson. The trademark showing of her ass is once again here and Hawn parades her derrière in her movies even more than Jean-Claude Van Damme. The film also features the gorgeous and future queen of soft core, erotic, B-movies Joan Severance.

The film has some good action scenes and plenty of on screen carnage and thanks to Badhams brisk direction it engages. The story maybe wafer thin but the film moves by so quickly it is difficult not to enjoy. The chemistry between the two leads more than make up for the clichéd by the numbers performances of the bad guys Carradine and Duke. Carradine is so far from his great performance in Kill Bill 2 that you have to wonder why it takes so much inspiration to coax a performance from the man whose wooden demeanour has led to him being a B-movie staple for nearly 20 years.

Overall this is enjoyable stuff and typical of the sort of harmless and moronic fun action movies of the 80's.

It zips along but the last quarter is slow and spoiling.

Okay, what freaked me out most about this film is realizing that Goldie Hawn is now almost 70s years old. That's just wrong. Anyhow, Mel Gibson plays a witty mullet-headed rogue in this amiable if lightweight action/comedy. He's in the FBI witness protection program when all on the same day runs into an old girlfriend, Goldie Hawn, from before he went into hiding and also the mobster he helped put away gets out of jail and is seeing revenge. Lots of chases, romantic tension and up skirt shots of Ms. Hawn ensue. The film was directed by John Badham, who I always felt was somewhat underrated for his nice balance of action and comedy in his films (i.e. this film, "The Hard Way," "Stakeout" or "Wargames"). It's kind of sad to see him mostly relegated to directing episodic TV at this point in his career. There's a solid supporting cast that includes David Carradine as the criminal seeking revenge, Bill Duke as a henchmen, Stephen Tobolowsky as a corrupt FBI agent, Joan Severance as a veterinarian and Jeff Corey as a crusty old man. Overall, this is a pretty lightweight popcorn film, but the stars make it enjoyable and worth watching.
