Determined to insure that his daughter not suffer in solitude because of her disturbing outward appearance, Dr. Cranston places a series of advertisements in the city newspapers inquiring to find beautiful young actresses for an alleged film audition. When aspiring screen starlet Melissa responds to the ad and is never heard from again, her sister Brenda sets her sights on L.A. to find out what has become of her missing sibling. After acquiring the help of kindly struggling actor and cab driver Bobby, who had previously dropped Melissa off at her "audition," Brenda quickly discovers that her sister is in more danger than she could have ever imagined.
