Movie Info

Reykjavik, 1999. Arrested the previous night after a fight, Stebbi is interrogated by the police. He cannot recall a thing because he was blind drunk. While smoking a cigarette in front of the police station, Stebbi runs into his childhood friend Tóti, a no-nonsense guy with an enormous tattoo on his bald head. Tóti hands him his card, remarking that Stebbi should call him if he has any problems. Soon after, Stebbi finds himself in a world of tough guys, stunning blondes, designer drugs, robberies and slaughter.

Audience Reviews for Black's Game (Svartur á leik)

½

Solid modern day, mobster style movie-Nordic style. Ending is enough to tick you off-but it was well played just the same.

The film seemed well-assembled technically, but the plot was depressing. It basically consists of a bunch of drug dealers/users going about their daily grind of dealing, using, and abusing whatever they come into contact with. It doesn't do much to inspire the human spirit, though I suppose it can serve as a cautionary tale. Ugh.

Engrossing. It's a fun, thrilling, entertaining drug/gangster flick. It doesn't have the depth character performances of the Pusher series, but it's still well worth watching.
