A Carry On film in all but name - the film version of the popular tv series of course centres around the Abbott Family and the varying relationships between their neighbours - although dated in places it's still jolly good fun and well worth a look for any fans of British Comedy

brilliant film version of a classic and well loved 1970's sitcom, SID JAMES is as always on top form, as is the gorgeous(now deceased)DIANA COUPLAND as jean abbot.this time, due to back timekeeping, the role of MIKE ABBOT was peformed by the ever excellent ROBIN ASKWITH..and the late great TERRY SCOTT plays his new neighbour with the still sexy CAROL HAWKINS as his daughter.PETER BUTTERWORTH replaces the late ANTHONY JACKSON as trevor, sid abbots fishing/drinking buddy, lets not forget the HARE & HOUNDS pub!!

Basically an extended episode of an unfunny sit-com, watched purely as Sid James was in it. Am unlikely to watch ever again though!

This tv comedy transposed to the big screen is unfunny for the most part and should be watched as a piece of British comic history more than anything else.

While this Peter Rogers (Carry On) production had some amusing moments, it was a fairly tongue in check effort - which disappointing, especially when you've got Sid James and some of the others from Carry On gracing the screen.

I felt like it dragged at certain points - I even left the room for a few minutes, came back and didn't feel as though I'd missed anything.

The most interesting thing about the film is the interesting role reversal with the woman playing Sid's daughter playing his love interest in other films... almost creepy feeling there.

Not a bad movie, just not a laugh riot like other Peter Roger productions.

A decent comedy that stumbles too much into sitcom territory.

By far the best of the tv-to-film crossovers of the seventies.
