  • What makes the film unshakeable is its sheer physical and psychological relentlessness of execution; a small, if deeply sad, story becomes all-consuming when no respite or interruption is offered from its overlapping stages of shock and sorrow.

  • Blind Spot gradually wears out its welcome by failing to add enough substance in front of the camera, even if what's happening behind the camera remains of interest.

  • Blind Spot is a devastating experiment that prioritizes both emotion and aesthetics. You may never see a more deliberately uncomfortable film this year.

  • Despite this complex setup and the film's dramatic central event, Novotny shows an intelligent restraint that lets us truly absorb the immediate implications and emotions of the situation.

  • The problem with Blind Spot, along with most one-take wonders, is that its inability to edit deprives it of manipulating time, leaving much of the film as a collection of moments in-between the action.

  • We're invested in these characters from the moment we meet them, and the full-throttle conviction of the ensemble ensures that every performance is rife with real, tangible, human emotions.
