As a huge fan of Chipmusic, I thought this was a very much enjoyable and well-made documentary covering a pretty unique subject matter.

So I love chiptune music, and I appreciate what these guys have done individually, but the documentary as an overview falls flat. The cinéma vérité interviews don't really go anywhere, but expose "the scene" as bunch of LSDJ enthusiasts who got together and put on a show. My stomach churned whenever anyone got grandiose or waxed poetic. The best parts were the footage from Blip Festival and when the artists got personal with how they craft.

Live performances and interviews mingle in a feature-length profile of the chiptune genre of music and its various artists and styles. A good starting point if you've never heard of chiptunes, especially for the sight of raves led by a guy on a Game Boy.
