Blockers could contend with some of the fantastic indie comedies of recent years that are approaching the coming-of-age genre with wit and warmth. Unfortunately, too often Blockers settles for the cheap and crass.

While "Blockers" was directed by a woman, it also has not one, but two male writers who manage to blend raunch and heart with some good social commentary.

Blockers is a great comedy with a a great script, subversive storytelling and genre execution and a fantastic cast that are sure to make you laugh and even make you feel a bit emotional.

Tries so hard to be progressive by flipping the script from horny teenage boys to horny teenage girls, but the gender-swapped spin feels stale.

A comedy that isn't all that funny, Blockers succeeds mostly thanks to the comfy chemistry between its leads and the surprisingly decent message running through it.

A bearable bawdy pro-feminist comedy, even if it had no emotional impact on me and the comedy rushed by me as it makes its way to its target audience.

BLOCKERS is deft, quick witted, and funny. There are good to great performances from stem to stern. This is one to see in theatres with a big audience and let yourself get swept up in the energy.

You say eggplant, I say aubergine, but let's not call the whole thing off -- as what starts as a standard frenetic comedy soon demonstrates it's perfectly possible to remove dated tropes and still produce a mainstream, funny and not remotely worthy movie.

Blockers is fruitful in its quest to explore the manic angst of parents who fear the worst for their kids and exploratory children who wish to be left to their own devices.

The best jokes in Blockers rarely announce themselves as being big jokes, and it's these smaller moments and specific observations that most seem to interest director Kay Cannon.

For a screwball comedy, Blockers gives Gen-Xers a pertinent crash course in feminism.

I don't know that it's a classic, but I also don't know that it's nearly as predictable if you're the actual age of the teenage characters in the movie in which case it might be entirely fresh.

This is a comedy that works because of its talented cast and its willingness to play by the same raunchy rules as male-dominated comedies while retaining a notably sex-positive tone without sacrificing any laughs.

Both a touching ode to the perils of young adulthood and a tribute to the difficulty of being a parent, the film is a terrifically entertaining comedy for all ages.

For all of its potential, the film falls short of the finish line -- unable to balance laughs with sentimental moments that sap out all of the comedic moments the cast worked so hard at achieving.

An obnoxious and embarrassing teen sex comedy that is sometimes a sincere and winning character study of friendship and family.

Blockers is silly and fun from the outside, but scratch just beneath the surface of this teen sex comedy and you'll find important messaging about consent and inclusiveness.

There's so much that could have gone wrong with "Blockers," and yet, it defies expectations.

Blockers is a case where the movie has an interesting, albeit creepy, premise but reduces it to the most bare gross-out humor.

While it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be, and John Cena isn't quite there yet as a leading man in a movie...it's still funny and it still delivers laughs.
