A comedy that isn't all that funny, Blockers succeeds mostly thanks to the comfy chemistry between its leads and the surprisingly decent message running through it.

A bearable bawdy pro-feminist comedy, even if it had no emotional impact on me and the comedy rushed by me as it makes its way to its target audience.

BLOCKERS is deft, quick witted, and funny. There are good to great performances from stem to stern. This is one to see in theatres with a big audience and let yourself get swept up in the energy.

You say eggplant, I say aubergine, but let's not call the whole thing off -- as what starts as a standard frenetic comedy soon demonstrates it's perfectly possible to remove dated tropes and still produce a mainstream, funny and not remotely worthy movie.

Blockers is fruitful in its quest to explore the manic angst of parents who fear the worst for their kids and exploratory children who wish to be left to their own devices.

The best jokes in Blockers rarely announce themselves as being big jokes, and it's these smaller moments and specific observations that most seem to interest director Kay Cannon.

For a screwball comedy, Blockers gives Gen-Xers a pertinent crash course in feminism.

I don't know that it's a classic, but I also don't know that it's nearly as predictable if you're the actual age of the teenage characters in the movie in which case it might be entirely fresh.

This is a comedy that works because of its talented cast and its willingness to play by the same raunchy rules as male-dominated comedies while retaining a notably sex-positive tone without sacrificing any laughs.

Both a touching ode to the perils of young adulthood and a tribute to the difficulty of being a parent, the film is a terrifically entertaining comedy for all ages.

An obnoxious and embarrassing teen sex comedy that is sometimes a sincere and winning character study of friendship and family.

Blockers is silly and fun from the outside, but scratch just beneath the surface of this teen sex comedy and you'll find important messaging about consent and inclusiveness.

There's so much that could have gone wrong with "Blockers," and yet, it defies expectations.

While it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be, and John Cena isn't quite there yet as a leading man in a's still funny and it still delivers laughs.

Blockers reminds us, albeit comically, that socially and culturally, we have a long way to go when judging boys and girl equally, sexually.

A fun, modernized teen sex comedy with a hilarious ensemble and a welcoming directorial debut by Kay Cannon.

Wholly enjoyable from start to finish due in no small part to this exceptional cast.

Blockers is what it is, a solid teen sex comedy. While the film does have some noted positives, it really isn't the progressive wonder which the marketing wants it to be.

A picture in the spirit of the early Farrelly brothers comedies, where a premise usually functioned as the glue holding together a mass of gross-outs.

Blockers succeeds when it's being ridiculous and funny, but it's something special when it allows teen girls and single moms and female directors who hardly ever get to participate in the fun of mainstream comedies suddenly get seated at the table.
