Nowhere near as good as the first two. What a let down
½ July 23, 2014
The beginning father son scene sets the mood, cheesy. Only to be followed up by a casino robbery with samurai swords. This movie also gets more into spiritual mysticism such as lighting fires with just your hand. The Kumite was all about hand to hand combat, but a weapon is used in one of the fights. Needless to say, this movie strays away from the original idea but then tries to copy it at the same time. A bad movie but better than the sequel.

Third entry is yet again a mess from start to finish. This is a painful film for action fans that doesn't have anything going for it. The cast is horrible and the direction is poor, with no emphasis on telling a great story, the third film was a pointless attempt at delivering a sequel that simply didn't stand out, and turns to be awful in the end. The fight scenes are dull, boring and really don't offer anything. A trip to the dentist is a far more awesome experience than watching Bloodsport 3. This is a bad film, and one that I really don't see why they made in the first place. Bloodsport fans will surely be disappointed with the result and there's nothing here to make it interesting for the viewer watching this abysmal train wreck. Considering that this is the third film in the series, it's really no surprise that they couldn't deliver anything more with the film. The film is the same old, same old that relies on recycled ideas from previous films. This is not an enjoyable ride, and this is among one of the worst sequels ever made. The film was definitely a misfire right from the start, and it shows due to a lacking script, a poor cast and even worst directing. Bloodsport 3 definitely isn't worth watching and it is a film that is plainly horrible, dumb and cheesy. Avoid watching this garbage; you'll be glad you did. This was awful and had no redeeming aspects going for it whatsoever. If only they put a bit effort into this film, maybe it would have worked, but it didn't, and the result an awful film that is horrible.

More Daniel Bernhardt flashbacks, as he prepares to become a warrior of the mind, body and spirit - or something like that. You have to channel your inner most warrior just to get through this dull, pointless garbage.

This weeks movie Review One for Monday August 1 2011 until Sunday August 7 2011 is Bloodsport 3. This was ok. The action was not as good as the first Bloodsport with Van Damme. It is not as good as the first Bloodsport. Jame Hong and Daniel Bernhardt as alex is in this movie. I give this movie two thumbs in the middle. 3 stars.

Bloodsport 3, for me it's the second best bloodsport movie.
Great fighting scene's.
The best movie with Daniel Bernhardt.

Alex Cardo (Daniel Bernhardt) is back again to fight in The Kumite to avenge the death of his teacher Sun (James Hong), who was killed by the crime boss Duvalier (John Rhys-Davies). Just when you thought the acting couldn't get any worse, we are subjected once again to Van Damme-copycat Daniel Bernhardt. Obviously he hasn't learned his own technique and still revels in throwing kicks like his predecessor. The choreography took a step down, with the in-ring fighters appearing as back-stock that didn't make the grade in the last two films. Director Alan Mehrez took it upon himself to include longer battles, but they came off as obtrusive. The Beast (Nicholas R. Oleson), was an all-together better fighter as a final opponent for Cardo, upgrading in skill to that of Demon from Bloodsport II. The same element that the previous films had is still on display here; having one of the competitors die at the hands of the main fighter. In-ring drama seems to be all the rave in the Bloodsport trilogy and having it amiss in this film would have been "careless" (pfft). Bloodsport III is only for filmgoers who need to watch every part of a series (like me).

Much less on the plot, more on the action, with the story told in a more narrative style/flashbacks. Good action fight scenes once again.

Truly Rubbish. The third in the blood sport films see's the main character do exactly the same as in the previous films but worse and with less budget. You wait and wait for the tournament and it disappointing. I mean you can't have a Kumite with out a guy doing monkey Kung-Fu. Now time for bloodsport 4

There was no call for this.

The prequal of the bloodsport series, which has an okay storyline, but a bunch of good action scenes throughout the movie. The kumite fight scenes may have less fights from the last film and may be more street fighting type, but at least the fight scenes are longer and a little better than most fights from the last film. Anyways, The movie is considered pretty excellent if your looking for action scenes.

I think John Rhys-Davies is secretly in every movie ever made.
