For a while, the found-footage horror thriller "Bodycam" appears to have something to say and, therefore, a better-than-average sense of how to handle its subgenre’s tropes and tics. Then, in the last 10-15 minutes, the illusion is spoiled.

Kind of just loaded with tropes. Some nonsense plot holes, like somehow they're filming the deletion of the body cam footage at one point... what? Why spend most of the movie not calling for back-up? Kind of plays off of a naive perspective of the police force. Pacing was pretty bad, didn't know when to end. The acting was solid, but the dialogue often felt like NPCs in a AAA game. Overall, nothing particularly ruined this film, and there were some moments that kept my attention, but I wasn't really holding on. Story beats were predictable for me... Yeah. Not my first recommendation for a found footage horror film. Monster was cute, though. Rec did this better.

This movie is 100% garbage. I will never believe another rotten tomato rating. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it never did and it's only 115 minutes long.
