not a bad film at all for being low budget horror. most of the time low budget horror is the best, being more gorey and more entertaining than hot shot company releases focusing on fright more than death. anywho tom seizmore was decent, getting alot older and career is fading but did good in bottom feeder. and loved the scientific experiment gone wrong, the rat was immense, and frightening and a joy to watch, especially when it came to kill victims. good acting, great storyline. bottom feeder is a good watch.

At first, I thought the Bottom Feeder was referring to an abnormal human-rat hybrid mutant that roamed the sewers of a University, killing off mafia type people, maintenance people, and a bum, but it turns out that the Bottom Feeder is actually referring to the star of the movie Tom Sizemore for his inability to stay clean and accept shitty movies like this one instead of the AMAZING films he used to be in. Have fun smoking your crack and heroine, Tom, you dumb fucking moron.

sizemore is getting older and bigger. hardly recognized him. don't bother with the science, creature wasn't that spectacular or scary. at least there was no cheap CG (though some times those scenes are very funny).

Metaprotiens? A guy makes a serum which is supposed to cure burn patients, only the man he made it for tests it on him..SWERVE!! Anyways, they don't give him some of the stuff he needs so he eats rats and a dog and a man, and because the serum fuses to..umm..what he ate...then he became a man-dog-rat...Oh, okay. Felt like a sci-fi original reject, ouch.

Not bad for a low budget film but it was particularly cheesey in places. Nice to see Sizemore back in the low budget horror - good acting and entertaining storyline!

A doctor has developed an amazing new serum, one of those lovely glowing green liquids that looks just like the re-agent in Re-Animator. Our dear doctor is hired by a paralysed, badly burnt millionaire to use this wonderful new serum to help him. The serum will regenerate any damaged cells, and thankfully has no side effects. Oh and if the improper dosage is given it causes intense hunger and if more serum has been given than needed by the body the serum will continue to "perfect the host at a cellular level" and the hunger will drive the host to eat anything nearby which will then start to mutate the host into whatever it has eaten. Right so no side effects then. Unfortunately like all films with glowing green serums things are going to turn out badly. Our millionaire decides that the only way to see if the serum works is to test it on the doctor, and unluckily for him (and several other people) he doesn't get the right dosage. Oops. As I'm sure you've already guessed when he starts getting peckish it's not a cheese sandwich on the menu. Enter Tom Sizemore and a few unknowns as a maintenance crew who happen to be working in the same tunnels that the doctor ends up in. Throw in a few henchmen, sorry henchpeople of the millionaire and things start to get interesting.

The idea of the serum isn't too bad, and with a bigger budget and better effects could have made a good film, although the film they've created isn't too bad. The effects look ok, but don't really take advantage of the whole metamorphosis thing.
