Movie Info

Filmed on location in the streets of Oslo, Boys from the Streets tackles the international postwar dilemma of juvenile delinquency. Directors Ulf Greber and Arne Skouen have recruited their cast from the ranks of real-life "street kids," all of whom play their roles with gusto and conviction. Not content with merely showing the problem, the filmmakers offer theories about the various causes of delinquency and attempt to suggest solutions. Surprisingly, this compelling film is virtually unknown in the US. Perhaps this was due to the overabundance of "j.d." films on the market in the early 1950s. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
