As an actor, Gallo has an irritating habit of repeating 90 percent of his lines at least once. I figure the movie could be 25 percent shorter and far less boring if he would say things once and be done with them.

(A) bleak, outstandingly creative film...(Gallo's) wounded, embittered performance is captivating, and so is his filmmaking.

Gallo also wrote a pretty funny screenplay filled with interesting characters, idiosyncrasies galore, and a decent romance between two very odd lead characters.

Unfortunately, the bottom line is that it's tedious and pointless. Better luck next time.

Buffalo '66 is an intriguing, peculiar, ultimately disappointing film loaded with flashy, stylish touches that prove more interesting than anything else.
