Pretty awesome choreography from Sammo Hung. A mix of clever and hard-hitting kung fu moves. Great story to boot. I'll be looking out for more Benny Chan films.

An okay movie with decent fight scenes. The storyline is fairly basic. You know, psycho son drunk with power (with an army at his bidding) murders people and heroes come forth to battle him. Luckily the CGI is kept at a minimum. Nothing is worst than CG'ed blood.

Fairly high production values, nice sets, some cool action, an okay albeit generic story, but some terrible over acting by most of the cast.

Benny Chan's name is a guaranteed for action flicks, especially when he collaborates with Sammy Hung. But alas, he didn't care much about the plot, cause this one's play out like a soap...

Nice fighting scenes yet the cgi was never close to Hollywood A-list movies.

I felt Call of Heroes is a bit of a disappointment. Back in the vicious warlord days, in the village of Pucheng a dastardly and over the top Louis Koo decides to kill some innocents who escaped him earlier. He is taken into custody and the chief is adamant for justice, but the man is the son of a brutal warlord who has an army. The movie seems like it would grand, but the characters are very thin, including Eddie Peng as a drifter who decides to help for no real reason, and the sheriff who won't release the warlord's son. The film's only good part is Wu Jing as the villain's stiff number one, and a vicious weapons fight near the end. The rest of the film is the basic nameless characters fighting each other, including hordes of villagers vs army guys who don't have their guns for some reason at the end. I feel Call of Heroes needed more attempts at a better story, because I felt they could have done a lot better.
