Movie Info

This program presents a look at the largest art collection ever owned by one person, that of Calouste Gulbenkian. Gulbenkian, who was born in 1869 and died in 1955, was an Armenian-American who owned five percent of the Iraq Petroleum Company. Gulbenkian's tastes were expressed in his assemblage of paintings, sculpture, jewelry, and tapestry. He owned works by Rubens, Degas, Rembrandt, Picasso, Moore, and others. The video goes to Paris, Istanbul, Venice, and Lisbon to see the art pieces in the care of this avid art collector.
