Movie Info

This documentary focuses on the complex life of the woman who came to personify Latin America in the minds of millions of North American moviegoers during the '30s, '40s, and '50s. While Miranda was popular in the North, however, her cartoon-like, stereotypical image was not so beloved in South America.

Audience Reviews for Carmen Miranda: Bananas Is My Business

I LOVE Her, I didn't favorite Her cause, well, you'd think I was too Fruity (Get it? The Fruit Hats & All). But I must admit to dressing as her for Halloween once as a Kid

6.5/10. Very detailed biographical documentary, it appears quite accurate. Some outstanding footage of Carmen Miranda. The re-enactments are ridiculous though, there is one scene with an actress portraying Carmen's arrival in New York City and it shows a very modern skyline (which includes the WTC). Interesting film.
