Movie Info

Surfing charters are meant to be a trip to Paradise. With six male surfers stuck on a boat, there's bound to be some friction. When two of the surf crew are replaced at the last minute with girls - the heat is turned way up. The one single girl on board - SAM - enjoys the attention. She has Bull and Rob wrapped around her finger. The frustrated, psychotic, Bull soon decides, "she'll get what she's asking for" and molests her. Outraged, the others abandon him on an island, but the ever-determined Bull returns, and takes control of the boat. He attacks the crew and holds them hostage. He harasses Sam and tortures the others. It's a nightmare battle of wits, on board the yacht, as the four imprisoned friends must survive the fury of the psycho at the helm.

Critic Reviews for Caught Inside

All Critics (6)

On one level, it's pure visceral filmmaker, a necessary bloodletting, and yet, it feels a little phoney and not quite right. By movie's end, the characters no longer feel real -- they're just figures, playing a movie game.

So when Caught Inside finally descends into an expected them-versus-him free-for-all in the final act, it is Oxenbould's wickedly wonky way with an improvised line that keeps the whole thing fresh.

It's a solid effort all round, but this really belongs to Ben Oxenbould whose brilliantly unhinged performance makes this a truly thrilling experience.

Audience Reviews for Caught Inside

What starts as a possibly "canned", mediocre thriller eventually escalates and develops into a very tense fight for survival against a force that scares well because of it's uncomfortable closeness to reality and a very possible nightmare for many people. This is a good example of the true fear capable in film when a story is focused on humanity and less on external forces like CGI monsters. The villain is captivating on screen and gives audiences the scariest feeling of all, the realization that we're not entirely sure of his limits and there's no telling what he is willing to do next.
