08/29/2011 You gotta be kidding me! This guy Matt Liston ruined his credit, his life, and lost his hot girlfriend because of a pathetic Cubs baseball team. Liston epitomizes what the Cubs are, LOSERS. I'd call this madness or insanity, but it's more like stupidity. Other than that it was an amusing documentary to watch as I love seeing the pain of sad sack Cubs fans. White Sox nation says hello Steve Liston and at least you did get to see a World Series victory in 2005. If anything you should a least thank the White Sox for allowing you to see a World Series champion in the fine city of Chicago. God knows it won't happen on the Northside in your or my lifetime. Looking at Matt's top three favorite things, you can begin to guess what happens in the film: 1) The Cubs, 2) Lou Malnati's Pizza, 3) Girlfriend. The fact that Matt Liston decided to make this film in 2003 is (unfortunately) almost too perfect. Most Cubs fans went into the season with moderate expectations, but we were all believing in October when they got SO close. It's not about curses. It's not about losers. It's about passion and believing that good things will happen to those who wait. Super cool flick for die-hard Cub fans. However, if you are truly passionate about the Cubs, heed the director's warning. Viewer discretion is advised. The 2003 post-season segment brings back lots of memories... (*Side note: Liston also worked on as production assistant for both Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, which has nothing to do with this movie, but makes me like him even more.)
