Movie Info

"Chasing October" is filmmaker Matt Liston's docu-comedy that chronicles his crusade to take the Cubs to the World Series "by any means necessary." Liston quits his job and decides that by making a documentary about the team during the 2003 season, he can single-handedly will them to the post season. The film is a hilarious must-see for all Cubs fans.

Worth seeing even if you're not a baseball fan, since Chasing October is about the ties that bind, as well as those that can break.

Chasing October is probably a movie only a diehard Cubs fan could love.

Whether you find the film funny, inspiring or exasperating will depend on how deeply you buy the setup. In these days of Postmodern times, nothing it seems is quite what it seems.

Chasing October is not the all-encompassing document on the Cubs that I'm sure even Matt Liston would love to see someday. But it is another chapter in the book racking up more disasters than the Old Testament.
