some classic LOL gags that represent the gold age of HK comedy (y) a neat origin

A partially cooked skirt-chasing comedy that occasionally gets away with behaving like The Three Stooges on a regular strength aphrodisiac. Any other time it's way too much Wong Jing -- and yes, there is most definitely such a thing -- you're not even five full minutes into "The Romancing Star" before a sexpot on a street corner tells Eric Tsang she's into porno mags and short, overweight, homely men. This is followed by a screwball car chase accompanied by Sherman Chow's adolescent score. These two sequences largely foreshadow what is about to unravel on-screen though there are a number of well placed "A Better Tomorrow" (1986) gags but sadly you'll have to wade through sequences where girls argue over who broke wind and men urinating on one another to get to them.

One of Jing Wong's earlier classic franchises... Some are dated now, but it still had some funny bits in it. I am surprized how many more came of this afterwards... alot of Jing Wong's jokes set here and recycled through the ages over and over and over again ~ lol

I remember I enjoyed this film so much in my childhood! I preferred watching it to Robo Cop (my bro's favorite). Despite its "mess-around" style, it's one of the HK classics.
