Decent movie. For some reason, this had a profound effect on me as a kid - we watched in in school one day for some reason. The french version of the "Where is Thumbkin?" song stuck with me for 30 years!

It's unfortunate that the TV movie Child of Glass was not widely released on VHS, and doubly unfortunate that it isn't on DVD for us lovers of Nostalgia. Child of Glass is one of those movies that nearly all of us children of the late 70s and early 80s has seen, but haven't seen it since childhood and rarely remember the title. For years, I carried haunted memories of a movie about the ghost of a beautiful murdered little girl, a dog, a boy, and a porcelain doll that floated midair that revealed a treasure. The boy and his friend must find the treasure that the girl was killed for in order to lift the curse put on her soul by her murderer. If you don't think this sounds like typical Disney're right. It's much darker than most Disney titles. When I FINALLY found out what the film was called, I hunted high and low for a copy only to discover it's quite a rare title and it's not uncommon when you actually do find one to pay anywhere from $20-$100. The VHS was difficult to obtain even back when it was released. If you are lucky enough to acquire one, sit down with your kids and give it a watch.
