When young Ali (Amir Farrokh Hashemian) accidentally loses the only pair of shoes his little sister Zahra (Bahare Seddiqi) owns, the siblings attempt to hide the bad news from their poverty-stricken father (Mohammad Amir Naji) and ill mother (Fereshte Sarabandi). It feels almost impossible not to love these two adorable young children who carry on their shoulders this beautiful tale of innocence, poverty and compassion - a film that pulls us with such power into the situation faced by its characters that we can't be left unmoved.

One of the best uses of child actors on screen that I have seen. The inventiveness of how they try to resolve what is ailing them is truly moving.

"Children of Heaven" is cute, amiable, forgettable entertainment that evokes memories of Vittorio De Sica's "Bicycle Thieves" and Albert Lamorisse's "The Red Balloon." What it makes it such an enjoyable watch is that it doesn't feel self-important or overbearing yet it doesn't overlook some of its more powerful themes. It's got just the right amount of charm.

kind of an amazing movie, shows things that may seem very little to you mean so much more to others in different countries/ People who aren't as wealthy as you. Would of rated it a 4 if it ended a little better.. wish it showed 'The Reaction' at the end instead of a bunch of goldfish swimming around a pair of feet. Would of been better in my opinion. Great acting, Amazing camera-work and I recommend watching it.
