What it lacks are the very elements that made the first movie such a surprise: wit and nerve.
What wit and nerve? The first one was shit.

wit and nerve in one of the most witless and boring movies released in 2010...yeah

Wit and nerve? That movie wasnt clever at all. the hero barely struggled. It was about as exciting as knitting.

My grandmother seems to enjoy knitting alot more than I enjoyed this movie. So I bet knitting is probably more exciing than this movie.

Is he talking about the "original" Clash of the Titans ?
Because if he's talking about the 2010 one, this guy's critic rank should get lower. lol

While I thoroughly enjoyed the first movie for what it was (a mindless action film that I could turn my brain off and enjoy), I would hardly say it had any wit and nerve.

I can't believe the ratings on this movie.
The old one was a classic of course, and then the remake was a let down.
So I decided to give this one a chance because I figured hey, they should do much better now.
Well--they did. I didn't go to see Wrath of the Titans to view Oscar worthy acting, or 30 minutes of explaining the story in which no one cares about at this point in time, when it involves Zeus and the rest of the played out Gods.
I wanted to see much advanced CG put to use in which this new and old generation deserves as ticket prices rise. Also I wanted to see something that fought to keep my eyes open while watching this movie at the theater very late at night. To me this is the best movie out in the theater's at the moment. It's so amazing and the closest we're going to get to God of War at the moment. Sorry for the folks whose brain couldn't keep up with the action. Hopefully they will bring back Bambi to the theaters again in 3d for ya.

The first one had wit and nerve? (spinning around crazily) Where? Where?
Apr 6 - 10:35 AM
The first one sucked bad and made the original shine even more. You need to pay attention beyond the special effects, pal.
Apr 7 - 02:52 AM
and what if the sole reason for me watching movies in the theater is for 3d special effects?
roller coasters must be boring right? because the only plot is to go in a circle.

I trying to figure out a response that you can comprehend.

There are particular movies that I would let get away with on just pure CG. This was one of them.
I was truly amped to see the film from the trailer, and when I saw it, I was blown away by how much action was carried throughout the movie and it all looked great. Usually when I see movies as such, they kind of half step it and do more talking than anything but spit out action every once in a while. This movie said screw the rules and lets just have some fun.
I mean really, did I actually come to see Wrath of the Titans for the acting.
"Oooooh I just can't wait to see that amazing acting while he's flying on that big ole CG horse in the sky. His facial expressions are amazing. Look how well he stays in character while almost being stomped on by that giant."
I mean really.

the first one stunk. it's only watchable because some of us appreciate mythologically based movies.
