An awesome piece of genre fare.

Class of 1984 is AAA+++ exploitation: violent, grotesque, morally debased, and completely reactionary - and perfectly crafted to deliver its grimy dystopia like a punch to the throat.

For a film that revels in its own grittiness Class of 1984 really is highly enjoyable and very rewatchable

Timothy Van Patten is definitely one of the most charismatic movie villains of all time, the epitome of punk anarchy and chaos...

The title suggests an Orwellian nightmare, but this extremely efficient and gleefully alarmist exploitation hit owes less to Big Brother than to 'Blackboard Jungle.'

Whether for its eighties nostalgia, or its absurdly reactionary violence, this is one guilty pleasure that still makes the grade.

Class of 1984 is not a great movie but it works with quiet, strong efficiency to achieve more or less what we expect from a movie with such a title. It is violent, funny, scary, contains boldly outlined characters, and gets us involved.

Cheesy, campy, corny, and violent. In other words, a rather fun little B-movie.
