Always compelling, bog standard Columbo episode with the same levels of drama and comedic interludes.

Solid outing as always but below par by Columbo movie-of-the-week standards. Here Eddie Albert guest stars as a general who kills a colonel over some crooked business dealings that would soon come to light.

Dead Weight is an unconventional Columbo mystery that's full of intrigue. After killing his business partner, military contractor Gen. Hollister discovers that there's an eye-witness to his crime and attempts to get her to recant her testimony before Lt. Columbo can build a case against him. The plot is written rather well, and plays with the series formula a bit. Additionally, Eddie Albert and Suzanne Pleshette deliver strong performances that give an exceptional amount of depth to their characters. A clever thriller, Dead Weight is an impressive addition to the Columbo series.

Charming Columbo case with veteran Eddie Albert as a war hero wooing the witness (a lovely Suzanne Pleshette) to his murder of a colleague.

A pretty entertaining Columbo in which he battles wits with a retired military general while trying to keep his witness in line. This one is a little more cheekier than others with less of an atmosphere of suspense and tension. Still even a bad Columbo is better than most other things.

A by the book Columbo. One of those that will make you wonder how Columbo knows who's the killer. Then you remember; he just knows...

It was hard watching Eddie Albert as a bad guy. I'm so used to him as being Mr. Douglas on Green Acres. This is one of my favorite episodes.

itse rikos ei ollut hirvean mutkikas Columboksi, mutta hahmot ja tarinan kuljetus oli parempaa kuin keskiverto Columboissa

Season 1 Episode 3. When a man is witnessed shooting another man at his home, she notifies the police and Columbo begins to investigate. The man is a famous war hero and after a search of his house, he brings up nothing and afterwards he is very doubtful of the witness who was on a boat outside at a good distance away. However when the war hero starts to woo the 'witness' she starts to change her mind on what she saw and begins to believe she was seeing things. The the body turns up...

loads of fun ... kept me wondering Columbo will 'get' this guy keeping in view that he had wooed his REAL witness away ....

Nice entry to the Columbo-series with echoes of "Rear Window" as a woman witnesses a murder from her sailboat. Eddie Albert is certainly one of the more likable villains to grace the Columbo-screen, and the episode itself isn't really that thrilling, it is however filled with a lot of warmth (much thanks to its female characters, portrayed by Kate Reid and Suzanne Pleshette).
