Jon M 07/28/2024 Extremely intense with S&M consensual violence- physical & emotional-between lovers, a young adult man-boy & a 20-something man. Despite the apparent age difference, they are evenly matched in skill, endurance and strength. Set in a lush forest where they have an off-the-grid, rustic cabin. French, subtitled, although both the soundtrack and subtitles are horrible. The soundtrack background is garbled, distorted, and irritating. The captions are all over the place, not only out of sync but in half the movie, they appear onscreen in the other half, leaving about ⅓ of the end without translation. So better be good at body language or know some French. Unfortunately, the video is not much better, jerky, poorly edited and sometimes out of focus. All while it comes to capturing the intense, painful, and violent, deeply disturbing interactions. These guttural, animalistic interactions will be difficult for the unprepared to watch. Where I think this edited version failed in conveying the underpinning of this story, the producer cut large, important, tender love-making from the film. At one point the storyteller says that as intense as their fight matches become, their lovemaking is it’s equal, keeping the relationship in balance. The ending seemed abrupt. In my copy, the second viewing caught me off guard - it was different than the first. I’ll need to review the copy again. See more Read all reviews
