This gritty crime thriller starring Mel Gibson tells the tale of two narcotics agents hunting for a cop killer during a crack epidemic. Confidentially, this “Informant” is pretty terrible...the drab look of the movie is the least of its problems; it’s the cluttered narrative and clumsy execution that are fatal.

A terminal cancer patient of a cop is trying to plan his own death in the line of duty in order to get his family a good payout. And Mel Gibson is on screen for maybe 10 minutes. Lame execution.

How far Mel Gibson has fallen. Well if this movie is any indication… pretty damn far. This movie was terrible on every level. Acting, story and editing were all hot trash. Don't wast your time. Or smash your hand in a car door. It will be less painful then watching this, I promise.

Every movie that shows a million production companies in the opening credits, you know pretty much know it's a crappy movie, this one is no difference. I would say it's a tad better than other like it though. I mean, what was the budget? The entire movie has the same 5 people in it and is shot in like 4 different small rooms, so unbelievable especially this supposed NYPD station that looks like a tiny darkened room and only has 3 people in it always. The acting is just terrible as well.

I would imagine the review I read here that said the greatest 1:28 minutes was a joke. What a dull movie. Hard to believe Mel Gibson, Braveheart Oscar winner, is relegated to straight ti in demand movies this bad.
