I expected to hear canned laughter to really give it the full TV sitcom treatment.

Audience Reviews for Un divan à New York (A Couch In New York)

This is a great romantic comedy from the cinematic eye of Chantal Akerman. Juliette Binoche is a dancer from Paris. William Hurt is a psychoanalyst from New York. Through an apartment swap program, they trade living environments for a few weeks, never having met each other. He has to deal with her pesky boyfriends and her messy apartment. She begins to take on his clients. When he returns home for a conference, he learns what's been going on and poses as a patient. That's when the emotions begin to grow. Very, very fun and entertaining.
