Spoiler alert: This movie is garbage.

You could get drunk and laugh at it.

Countdown is pretty damn fun and does an excellent job of tapping into technology driven terrors for the modern age that completely surprised me and left me thoroughly entertained to boot.

A cinematic salad with too many ingredients that never mix well with each other. [Full Review in Spanish]

The film is lukewarm in its handling of the subject and leads the protagonist to the same meanness that she intends to fight. [Full Review in Spanish]

...this is a middling 2019 horror entry that isn't as bad critics made it out to be, but it's exceedingly forgettable.

It's very entertaining thanks to the suspense and comedy, even though it doesn't achieve a true horror atmosphere. [Full Review in Spanish]

Countdown has jump scares galore, but that doesn't mean it's good.

While Elizabeth Lail carried the film well enough and there were some good scares sprinkled throughout, it was not enough to hide this fact. While I wouldn't recommend seeing it in cinema, it would be a decent Halloween movie to rent later in the year.

Think 'Final Destination' plus 'Flatliners' but minus all of the fun.
November 13, 2019
Its influences are obvious, but that hardly matters, when the film deftly delivers the scares.
November 13, 2019
...a prototypically uneven teen-friendly horror flick.
November 11, 2019
Nothing really makes sense, even by the movie's own crazed rules with the uninspired ending adding further resignation.
November 10, 2019
"Countdown" is just above the usual "rent-em-and-forget-em" horror fare out there.
November 8, 2019
Yet another example of a high-concept idea that doesn't deliver enough of the goods. (Full Content Review for Parents - Violence, Profanity, etc. - also Available)
November 6, 2019
Countdown is not aggressively terrible, but it's life-threateningly dull. A lot of moments don't make sense, and the writing is both amateurish and too self-serious to be clever or entertaining.
November 5, 2019
Crudely uninteresting, the kind of horror film that demonstrates nothing but contempt for horror fans.
November 2, 2019
As a horror film, Countdown is feeble in almost every regard.
October 31, 2019
The constant loud noises and jump scares of Countdown are only enjoyable for truly novice horror watchers.

We've seen these jump scares, and we've traveled this road many times before. It's competently made and isn't the worst way to spend an hour and a half, but it's also pretty forgettable.
