Movie Info

A woman worn down by life's battles is institutionalized following a nervous breakdown and finds love under the strangest circumstances imaginable in director Ellie Kanner's humorous romantic drama. Letty Mayer is a beautiful young teacher whose boyfriend is a successful attorney and whose family has always been decidedly close knit. Despite the perfection of surface appearances, however, all is not well in Letty's turbulent mind. Letty's sister is about to get married and the pressure of the impending nuptials has the single sibling more than a bit overwhelmed. After suffering a nervous breakdown, Letty is institutionalized. There, surrounded by the white walls and well-intending doctors, Letty strikes up a warm relationship with charming schizophrenic Michael - who is no stranger to institutionalized life. As love begins to blossom between this deeply disturbed pair, Letty will soon be faced with the difficult decision of choosing between returning to the life she has always known, or starting anew with Michael and braving a decidedly uncertain future.

This is a touching drama trapped inside a dopey one, and sometimes, when the timing's just right, the touching drama breaks free.

Audience Reviews for Crazylove

So wonderful. Two crazies fall in love and you hope that they can make it. You have to watch the movie to find out what happens to their love when they are both released from the psych ward.

This movie was so adorable. I guess you can find love anywhere. Two institutionalized people discover love. Reiko Aylesworth does as incredible job as Letty (Leticia) Mayer, a young, beautiful teacher who has the world at her fingertips. Or so it seems. As the story moves on, you quickly see that Letty's life isn't the bed of roses that it seems. Through the progression of the story, we go with Letty as she re-learns to live her life to the fullest and develops a real joy in everyday living that makes you smile as your watching. Bruno Campos plays Michael perfectly, charming, funny and just the type of man you'd want to sweep you off your feet. Almost.... She had OCD and he SCHIZOPHRENIC. It does indeed have it's fair share of cheesy moments and romantic-drama clichés, but get over them. It does away with a cheap-shot ending and left me going "huh...that actually was a REALLY GOOD movie!"
